odd behaviour part II
Also noticing that in a course where the Live block is visible - nothing is displayed for emails or calendar. Is this a function of the Outlook feature only?

Hi, Those parts of the block only appear if you configure the email service through the settings. If you are using Outlook Live as the email and calendar service, you will need to configure that service and enter those credentials in the settings page. Please send a quick note to moodle-at-microsoft-dot-com to help set up your Outlook details. Thanks.
