Office Add-in for Moodle – version 1.1
We have received a lot of great feedback from the community and I am pleased to announce that we have firmed up our plans for the next release of the Office Add-in for Moodle. We are going to do a quick turnaround to address the 2 major areas of feedback.

Introducing the Office Add-in for Moodle
Let me tell you a story…
About 5 months ago, shortly after joining the Education Labs group, I volunteered to take a look at a scenario facing many teachers around the world to see if I could improve it.  The scenario involved teachers using Moodle for course management and Microsoft Office to create and edit course materials.  “Hmmm, a chance to help some teachers,” I thought to myself.  “I like it!”... (read more)
Using SharePoint as the File System for Moodle
We have a little present for IT Pros running Moodle and SharePoint in their infrastructure.  Today we are publishing a white paper that explains how to set up SharePoint as the file system for Moodle.  Why would an IT Pro want to do that?  There are a number of good reasons, but here are the ones I’ll mention.  First, it helps prevent data loss.  If a teacher deletes a file by mistake and wants to... (read more)
Great New Chemistry Tool
Check out this great new Chemistry Add-in for Word that our friends over at MSR created in collaboration with the University of Cambridge.   It lets you add chemistry information to a Word document and switch between various representations (i.e. IUPAC name, formula, 2D view).  We especially like the 2D editor where you can edit and update molecules.

Introducing the Math Worksheet Generator
We’re happy to release a helpful new tool for you to check out called the Math Worksheet Generator.  This one is aimed at math teachers, tutors, parents, or anyone wanting to practice math problems with an accompanying answer sheet (and for those folks already using Microsoft Math, a step by step explanation of answers).  We’ve known that many teachers spend a lot of time searching for and photocopying... (read more)
